Mindfulness and Meditation

Join me for Integral Meditation every Monday night at Ekoji in Richmond VA.

Meditation is the art of paying attention and an invitation to fully be present to ourselves. The practice is full-bodied, no part of us privileged above another. Breath matters as much as thought and emotion. Within reach is balance, calm, insight, and well-being. When we practice with self-compassion, we become more embodied, experiencing presence and radiant aliveness.

With meditative awareness, there is only a timeless now. This now ripples outward and inward and allows every level of our being to actively participate in creation. The now provides an energizing rest and welcome ease that can be carried to work, family, and creative pursuits. We are poised in the moment. We breathe, we sit, we look, we listen. Meaning shifts. We surrender. We make peace with the universe. We wake up. The only task is to be present to sensation and thought arising.

Meditation workshops use mindfulness techniques from a variety of traditions as a way to practice meditation for developing balance and participating more completely in life.

Contemplative Movement with Meditation

Contemplative Movement is a practice that focuses on movement, stillness, and awareness of the somatic body. Contemplative movement works with the natural intelligence of the body. Attention to the moving somatic body results in deliberate and spontaneously arising movement. Using somatic methods, participants learn how to listen to their body, tap into individual guidance, and open to their deeper nature.

Objectives:

*Increase somatic intelligence
*Expand mindful responsiveness
*Support balance and calm
*Become centered and grounded
*Deepen presence
